Dr. Tarun Walia

Dr. Tarun Walia is a senior pediatric dentist with over two decades of academic, clinical, and research experience. Dr. Walia received his postgraduate qualification in Paediatric Dentistry from prestigious PGIMER, Chandigarh, INDIA in 1997. After senior residency in the same institute, he moved to Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) in 2001. He acquired Membership in Pediatric Dentistry from RCS, England in 2003. He was awarded Fellowship in Dental Surgery from Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, Glasgow in 2021. He is currently Professor and Program Lead, MSc – Pediatric Dentistry program at the College of Dentistry Ajman University, United Arab Emirates. A passionate educator and mentor, he has guided numerous postgraduate theses and actively contributes to curriculum development and training innovations in pediatric dental education. His areas of expertise include early childhood caries, molar incisor hypomineralization, pediatric endodontics, and dental trauma. He has over 40 publications in indexed journals, and is a peer reviewer for international dental journals. His research interests focus on caries prevention, minimally invasive dentistry, and microbial analysis using advanced molecular techniques. He has delivered keynote addresses, workshops, and scientific lectures at leading national and international conferences, and actively participates in global collaborations aimed at improving pediatric oral health. He serves on advisory panels and professional committees, including founder member of Emirates Pediatric Dental Club. Dr. Walia is known for combining clinical excellence with research-driven practice, and remains deeply committed to advancing children’s oral health through evidence-based care and policy advocacy.
