Dr. Betul Rahman

Associate Professor of Periodontology, College of Dental Medicine, University of Sharjah

Dr. Betul Rahman was born in Kayseri, Türkiye. She earned her dental degree from the Faculty of Dentistry, Hacettepe University in Ankara, where she also completed her PhD in Periodontology.

She began her academic career at Dicle University in Diyarbakir, serving for two years as an Assistant Professor, before moving to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to work as a Periodontist at King Fahad Specialist Hospital. After relocating to the United Arab Emirates, she spent six years in private practice in Abu Dhabi.

In 2008, Dr. Rahman joined the College of Dental Medicine at the University of Sharjah, where she continues to serve as an Associate Professor of Periodontology. Her primary focus is on teaching and clinical training of MDS Periodontology residents, particularly in periodontal surgeries and periodontal plastic surgical procedures.

Over the years, she has supervised around ten MDS theses and has also served as an external examiner for both clinical and thesis examinations at other universities across the UAE. She has contributed extensively to the field with nearly 50 publications in reputed peer-reviewed international journals.
