Professor and former Chair of Oral Medicine and Periodontology

Prof. Ahmed Y Gamal presently is the Professor of Oral Medicine and Periodontology at the Faculty of Dental Medicine, Ain Shams University, and the Vice-dean for postgraduate affairs at the Faculty of Dentistry, Oct. 6 university, Egypt. Previously he held the position of Dean, Faculty of Dentistry, Nahda University, Banei Sweif, Egypt.
Prof. Gamal has several scopus-indexed publications in esteemed journals to his credit. His initial research work focused on the response of the human periodontal ligament fibroblasts to PDGF-BB in-vitro. In recent years his work and publications were directed toward guided tissue regeneration of intrabony defects with perforated barrier membranes, and the use of injectable platelet-rich fibrin (i-PRF) blended xenograft for buccal gap distance filling. Prof.Gamal has also presented and participated as a panelist at several national and international conferences.
