GMU Rewards & Recognition 2026 Celebrates Excellence and Honors

Gulf Medical University hosted its much-anticipated Rewards & Recognition 2026 on 17 January 2026 aboard the iconic Queen Elizabeth 2 Floating Hotel in Dubai. The event brought together staff and faculty from across the university to celebrate dedication, performance, and shared success.

GMU Celebrates Excellence and Honors

The ceremony was presided over by Dr. Thumbay Moideen, Founder and President of the Thumbay Group, with Prof. Manda Venkatramana, Chancellor of Gulf Medical University, as the Chief Guest. Both leaders highlighted GMU’s continued growth and the vital role played by its academic and professional teams.

The evening marked a proud moment for the College of Health Sciences (CoHS), as several faculty members were recognized for their outstanding contributions to teaching, leadership and academic excellence:

  • Ellen Ghazi, Associate Professor and BSc. Anesthesia Technology Program Director
  • Asaad Mohammed, Professor, Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences
  • Sara Mohammed Ali, Associate Professor, Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences
  • Albin Babu, Lecturer, Department of Medical Imaging Sciences
  • Murtada M., Clinical Instructor, Department of Anesthesia Technology

The event also featured a vibrant lineup of cultural performances presented by GMU staff, which added warmth and energy to the celebration and was thoroughly enjoyed by all attendees.

Inspirational addresses by the President and Chancellor set the tone for the evening, reinforcing GMU’s commitment to excellence, teamwork, and innovation. The celebration concluded with a sumptuous dinner, providing an opportunity for colleagues to connect and celebrate achievements together.
