As part of the GMU Rewards & Recognition 2026 celebrations held on 17 January 2026 at the Queen Elizabeth 2 Floating Hotel, Dubai, Gulf Medical University proudly recognized long-standing commitment and loyalty through its Long Service Awards.
A special moment of the evening was the presentation of the Long Service Award to Dr. Sathees Kumar Durairaj, Assistant Professor, Department of Physiotherapy, College of Health Sciences, in recognition of his dedicated service to the university since November 2010.

The award acknowledged Dr. Sathees Kumar’s consistent contribution to teaching, academic development, and clinical education over more than a decade of service at GMU.
The ceremony was presided over by Dr. Thumbay Moideen, Founder and President of the Thumbay Group, with Prof. Manda Venkatramana, Chancellor of Gulf Medical University, as the Chief Guest. The event was attended by GMU faculty and staff and featured cultural performances, leadership addresses, and a celebratory dinner.
Dr. Praveen Kumar, Dean – CoHS remarked, “Long service reflects dedication, resilience, and a deep sense of responsibility toward the institution and its students. We sincerely appreciate his valuable contribution to the growth of the College of Health Sciences.”
