Department of Medical Imaging Sciences, College of Health Sciences (CoHS), Gulf Medical University (GMU), welcomed the 2025 intake of BSc. Medical Imaging Sciences (MIS) students with a comprehensive orientation session on August 30, 2025.

The event began with a welcome address by Dr. Praveen Kumar, Dean of CoHS, who emphasized the university’s commitment to nurturing excellence and professionalism in healthcare education. This was followed by a Program Director’s message by Dr. Mohamed Rawashdeh, introducing students to the academic calendar, integrity policies, and university guidelines.

Dr. Mohamed Zakariya, Semester Coordinator, provided an overview of Semester 1 courses, weekly schedules, and assessment methods. Students were also guided through the Learning Management System (LMS) and Folio 360 by Mr. Suraj Sebastian and briefed on essential administrative procedures by Registrar Mr. Aslam Kutty.

Additionally, Dr. Ramprasad M familiarized students with GMU’s library resources, while Ms. Liza Kaminzada introduced the services of the Student Affairs Department. The orientation concluded with a networking session and refreshments, giving students an opportunity to interact with faculty and peers.

Medical imaging professionals are at the forefront of diagnostic medicine, and our students will train in state-of-the-art facilities guided by highly experienced faculty. This journey will not only develop their technical expertise but also instill a deep sense of responsibility and empathy essential for patient care.”
