College of Health Sciences (CoHS), Gulf Medical University, proudly congratulates Dr. Kumaraguruparan Gopal & team, Program Director and Associate Professor of Physiotherapy, for securing international Research Grants from INTI International University, Malaysia, where Dr. Kumaraguruparan is a co-investigator.
The research projects focus on promoting health and wellbeing among sedentary young adults. The first study, “Promoting Wellbeing: A Cross-Sectional Study on the Relationship Between Health Risk Factors, Functional Mobility Deficits, and Upper Extremity Balance in Sedentary Young Adults”, investigates the impact of lifestyle-related risk factors on functional mobility and balance.
The second study, “Promoting Good Health and Wellbeing: The Effect of Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization on Lower Extremity Balance and Functional Movements in Sedentary Adults”, explores evidence-based physiotherapy interventions to enhance balance and movement.
Dr. Praveen Kumar, Dean of CoHS, applauded the achievement, stating, “This is a prestigious award and reflects the high quality of research background faculty involved in teaching the students at GMU. It also highlights our strong commitment to advancing physiotherapy research and promoting student learning through global collaborations.”
These grants mark a significant milestone in positioning GMU’s CoHS physiotherapy faculty at the forefront of international research and innovation in health sciences.
