Ajman Sports Club

A total of 50 football players aged between 10 and 24 years were screened using the standardized FMS protocol, which included tests such as the deep squat, inline lunge, shoulder mobility, active straight leg raise, trunk stability push-up, and rotary stability. These assessments helped identify movement dysfunctions, asymmetries, and risk factors for musculoskeletal injuries. Each participant received personalized feedback and corrective exercise recommendations to improve flexibility, stability, and coordination. Educational sessions were also conducted on warm-up routines, muscle activation, and posture control to enhance sports performance and reduce injury risk.

Functional Movement Screening

The event provided students with meaningful hands-on experience in sports screening and preventive physiotherapy, connecting classroom learning with real-world community engagement.

Under the guidance of Dr. Ram Prasad M, Chairperson, Department of Physiotherapy and led by Dr. Rajasekar Sannasi  – Assistant Professor, Department of Physiotherapy with support from Mr. Balaabishek Ramaprabaharan 2025MPT05, first-year MPT student, and Mr. Osman Zubair Khan 2024MPT04, second-year MPT student.

Dr. Praveen Kumar, Dean of the College of Health Sciences commented, “Programs like this highlight GMU’s dedication to producing skilled and community-focused physiotherapists. Engaging with young athletes not only enhances our students’ clinical competence but also supports the broader goal of fostering a healthier, more active community.”
