College of Health Sciences at Gulf Medical University (GMU), Ajman, proudly announces that Mr. Marwan Ismail, lecturer from the Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences, represented the university at the 5th Annual International Scientific and Practical Conference held on October 17, 2025, in Dushanbe, Republic of Tajikistan.

The conference was held under the theme “Current Medico-Social Problems (Science and Practice) and Ways of Their Development in the Republic of Tajikistan.”
Mr. Marwan presented a research paper titled “Neutrophil-Lymphocyte Ratio as a Biomarker for Urinary Tract Infection in Female Patients.” His presentation highlighted the clinical value of the Neutrophil-Lymphocyte Ratio (NLR) as a cost-effective and efficient biomarker for diagnosing and monitoring urinary tract infections (UTIs) in female patients — an innovation that holds particular significance for healthcare systems with limited resources.

The study received widespread appreciation from the international academic and medical community, acknowledging its practical implications in improving diagnostic accuracy and patient care.
