Dr. Asaad Mohammed Ahmed – Professor, Department of Medical Laboratory Science, CoHS GMU has officially joined the ‘IP7: Cord Blood Stem Cell Collection, Handling, Processing,’ and ‘CD34⁺/CD38⁺ Stem Cell Enumeration Using Flow Cytometry’ training program at the First Stem Cell and Genomics Laboratory in Dubai.

This five-day intermediate program held from 17th – 21st November 2025, provides comprehensive hands-on training in cord blood stem cell collection, safe handling and transport, laboratory processing, and advanced flow cytometry–based enumeration of CD34⁺ and CD38⁺ stem cells. It also covers key quality and biosafety practices essential for modern stem cell laboratories. The program is designed to enhance participants’ technical expertise and deepen their understanding of modern stem cell laboratory protocols.

Dr. Praveen Kumar, Dean CoHS, praised Dr. Asaad’s commitment to continuous learning and remarked, “Dr. Asaad’s participation strengthens faculty expertise and supports curriculum development by integrating emerging technologies in stem cell and regenerative medicine.”
