Dr. Jameel Rizwana Hussaindeen, Program Director and Associate Professor of Optometry, was invited as an International Speaker at Opto-Flix 3.0 – International Conference on Optometry, held on September 27–28, 2025, at Galgotias University, India.
The two-day event brought together leading optometrists, ophthalmologists, educators, researchers, and students from India and abroad to discuss the latest trends and innovations in vision science.
Dr. Rizwana delivered an insightful online session titled “Future of Vision Therapy: Technological Advances and Clinical Applications,” tracing the evolution of vision therapy from traditional orthoptics to modern, neuroscience-based frameworks. She highlighted how Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Mixed Reality (MR) are transforming the landscape of binocular vision therapy and visual rehabilitation.
Her presentation was widely appreciated for its innovative blend of science, technology, and clinical relevance, reflecting GMU’s strong focus on research-driven and future-ready optometric education.
Speaking about the achievement, the Dean of the College of Health Sciences, Dr Praveen Kumar remarked, “Dr. Rizwana’s contribution reflects CoHS’ ongoing commitment to advancing healthcare education and strengthening GMU’s role as a global leader in allied health sciences.”
