Orientation Program – Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management and Economics (BSc.HME)

Thumbay College of Management and AI in Healthcare hosted the Orientation Program for the new cohort of the Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management and Economics (BSc. HME) at Gulf Medical University, Ajman, on Thursday, August 28, 2025. The program marked the beginning of the academic journey for the incoming students and was designed to provide them with essential academic, administrative, and campus-related guidance.

The program began with arrival and registration, setting a warm and organized start to the day. This was followed by a Welcome Address delivered by Dr. Vinaytosh Mishra, Associate Dean, who greeted the students and extended best wishes for their academic journey. He emphasized the importance of dedication, professionalism, and a positive mindset in achieving success.

The session on Do’s and Don’ts was presented by Dr. Sudhir Rana, who guided students on academic expectations, discipline, and codes of conduct at the university. His talk highlighted the importance of integrity, time management, and adherence to university policies for a smooth and successful student experience.

An important address by the Registrar focused on the Equivalency Certificate, where students were guided on the process and documentation required to obtain equivalency for their qualifications, ensuring compliance with higher education regulations in the UAE.

This was followed by a session on Guidance for Students of Determination, emphasizing inclusivity and support for students with special needs. Dr. Lubna Abdel Jawad spoke on Interprofessional Education and mentorship, encouraging collaboration and peer learning, after which the students were introduced to the faculty members of the program.

Students were then given an overview of the university’s IT facilities, including Moodle and Folio, by Mr. Suraj Sebastian, E-Learning Manager, ensuring they are well prepared to navigate the digital learning platforms. This was followed by a presentation on Student Affairs Services by Dr. Zeina Mazloum, who briefed them on the resources and support services available to enhance their student life experience.

The program concluded with a guided tour of the college facilities, led by Dr. Jagroop Singh, giving the students a first-hand look at the infrastructure, classrooms, and resources that will support their learning journey throughout the program.
