The College of Dentistry, Gulf Medical University, in collaboration with industry partners Shofu and Truemed, successfully conducted a Lecture and Hands-On Workshop titled “Precision and Esthetics in the Digital Era: Predictable Indirect Restorations from Prep to Finish” on the 5th of June 2026 for dental interns and alumni.
The event was led by Prof. Hatem M. El-Damanhoury (DDS, MDS, PhD, ABOD), Professor and Director of the MDS-Prosthodontics program at the University of Sharjah, Board Certified by the American Board of Operative Dentistry, and a CAD/CAM Certified Trainer (ISCD).
The lecture covered contemporary principles of tooth preparation design, material selection for ceramic and resin-based inlays, onlays, and partial-coverage restorations, and the integration of digital workflows to achieve marginal accuracy and superior esthetics. The hands-on session provided the participants with practical experience in adhesive cementation protocols, occlusal management, and finishing and polishing techniques for predictable clinical outcomes.
