The College of Dentistry, Gulf Medical University (GMU), in collaboration with its industry partner Exocad, a dental CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software company that develops digital solutions for dentistry, organized a workshop titled “CAD Software that Transforms Smiles and Next-Level in CAD Design” on the 19th of September 2025, for undergraduate and postgraduate dental students.
Presented by Dr. Ghassan Nasser, Sr. Sales Manager at Exocad, the workshop introduced BDS Year 4 & 5 students and postgraduate students to the transformative role of digital dentistry. Participants explored how CAD technology enables precise and esthetic digital smile design, seamless integration with intraoral scanners and 3D printers, and advanced applications in implant planning and guided surgery. Emphasis was placed on improving accuracy, durability, and patient-centered outcomes while streamlining clinical and laboratory workflows.
The workshop highlighted GMU’s commitment to equipping students with advanced digital dentistry skills and promoting AI-driven treatment planning, aligning education with the future of personalized oral healthcare.
