Prof. Walid Elsayed, Associate Dean Academics, CoD delivered an oral presentation at the 2nd Emirati Conference on Medical Education on the 12th of February 2024 held at the United Arab Emirates University, Al Ain, UAE.
The presentation titled ‘Transferability of Competency from Simulation to Patient in Dental Education’, shed light on a critical aspect of dental training. The research study provided insights into the effectiveness of simulation-based learning in preparing dental students for real-world patient care scenarios. The study concluded that excelling in simulation-based assessments or training does not guarantee the development of clinical skills for patient treatment among students, thereby emphasizing the need for high fidelity simulation training.
