The College of Dentistry at Gulf Medical University successfully organized a 2-day Hands-On Workshop on “Orthodontic Wire Bending” on the 29th & 30th of November 2025, in collaboration with industry partners Taqeem and Frasaco. The workshop was led by Dr. Fady Hussein Fahim, Professor of Orthodontics, Cairo University, Egypt.
This intensive training provided participants with practical exposure to fundamental and advanced wire-bending techniques essential for clinical orthodontic practice. Dr. Fady demonstrated the biomechanics behind different archwire forms, loops, and auxiliaries, emphasizing precision, force control, and customization for patient-specific treatment needs.
The workshop brought together MDS Orthodontics postgraduate students from Gulf Medical University, Ajman University, and the University of Sharjah, offering a rich platform for inter-institutional learning and skill enhancement. Participants appreciated the hands-on focus, expert guidance, and opportunities for direct practice under supervision.
