The College of Dentistry, Gulf Medical University, successfully conducted a Lecture and Hands-On Workshop on “Restoration of Mutilated and Endodontically Treated Posterior Teeth”, for dental interns and alumni in collaboration with industry partners Shofu and Truemed on the 12th of December 2025. The masterclass was delivered by Dr. Ahmed Tarek Farouk, Consultant in Restorative and Esthetic Dentistry.
The workshop emphasized evidence-based decision-making in post-endodontic restorations, including biomimetic principles, cuspal coverage, and material selection. Participants gained practical exposure to contemporary adhesive protocols, indirect restorations, and reinforcement concepts aimed at improving long-term prognosis of structurally weakened teeth.
Furthermore, the hands-on session in the Phantom Lab enabled interns and alumni to translate scientific concepts into clinical practice under expert guidance. This academic-industry collaboration reinforced the importance of integrating material science innovations with clinical dentistry.
