The lecture provided a scientific overview of the pathophysiology of dentine hypersensitivity, emphasizing the hydrodynamic theory. Ms. Zainab discussed the etiological factors including enamel loss, gingival recession, and improper brushing techniques, and highlighted the diagnostic differentiation between hypersensitivity and other causes of dental pain.

Furthermore, participants were introduced to the latest preventive and management strategies, including desensitizing toothpastes, varnishes, and in-office agents that act by occluding dentinal tubules or modulating neural response. The importance of patient education and proactive clinical management was underscored to prevent recurrence and ensure long-term relief.
