The College of Dentistry, Gulf Medical University, in collaboration with its industry partner Curaden Academy, organized an event titled “Smiles Beyond Clinics” at the Manzil Center, Sharjah, one of the UAE’s best organizations for people of determination, on the 7th of October 2025. The initiative saw enthusiastic participation from students across the BDS program, Dental Internship, and MDS Periodontics program, who contributed to the event’s educational and interactive activities.

The event began with an educational video and interactive discussions on the importance of oral health, followed by engaging games designed to reinforce key messages in a fun and memorable way. An educational session on healthy dietary choices highlighted the importance of consuming fruits and vegetables while avoiding junk food.
Participants also benefited from detailed demonstrations and hands-on activities on proper toothbrushing techniques through the “Touch to Teach” model, making learning both interactive and practical. The event concluded with the distribution of oral health goodies, ensuring participants left with tools and knowledge to maintain good oral hygiene.
This initiative reflected GMU’s strong commitment to the community, oral health awareness, and preventive education, while also providing students with valuable opportunities to connect with the community.
