Prof. Margaret Lartey is a Professor of Medicine and a Physician with specialist training and interests in dermatology and infectious diseases. As the Dean of the University of Ghana School of Medicine and Dentistry (UGSMD), she manages 689 staff made of senior members academic and non-academic, senior and junior staff, in addition to managing about 670 students across three programmes: Regular Medical Programme leading to MBChB Degree, UG; Regular Dentistry Programme leading to BDS Degree, UG and Graduate Entry Medical Programme leading to MBChB Degree, UG.

Prof. Margaret Lartey continues to actively teach medical students and residents in Dermatology and Infectious Diseases and an examiner of both the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons and the West African College of Physicians. Her research areas include the skin and HIV, Pharmacokinetics of Antiretrovirals, HIV Co-infections among others. She has published about seventy (70) Peer-reviewed journals articles and seven (7) book chapters. She holds international grants and is also involved in the training of graduate students both at the Masters and PPh.D.level.
