The purpose of the Office of Institutional Research and Planning is to provide evidence for demonstrating institutional effectiveness by systematically evaluating its academic programs and courses as per CAA Standards. The effectiveness is related to the academic, student and administrative services and in turn use the results of that evaluation in planning, budgeting, establishing priorities, and improving its academic programs and services.
The Office of Institutional Research and Planning is headed by a Director and assisted by supporting personnel to carry out its responsibilities. The Director, shall be under the direction of the President & Chairman Board of Governors and the Provost of Gulf Medical University, is responsible for advising, facilitating and monitoring the program of institutional effectiveness at GMU through a radical strategic policy congruent with SMART criteria (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Time-related) of performance management in the University.
The Director is a principal advisor on strategic policy to the President & Chairman Board of Governors and the Provost and to the Academic Council and ensure effective coordination of advice from other offices to the President & Chairman Board of Governors, Provost, Academic Council and other University bodies.
