October being the Breast Cancer Awareness month, GMC Hospital & Research Centre has been in the forefront to commemorate it in a big way.
A 5-day Breast Cancer Awareness Program was conducted from October 19 – 23, 2008 in GMC Hospital premises.
Dr. Manda Venkatramana, Associate Dean, Professor of Surgery and the Organizing Chairman of this Program said that the inspiration for conducting this program was the phenomenal success of a similar campaign conducted last year and the positive feedback obtained from the participants. Gulf Medical College and Cairo University (Kasr Al Ainy, Faculty of Medicine) organized a joint conference on Organ Transplantation – Medical and Surgical Aspects, on Saturday, 15th of March 2008 at Gulf Medical College Ajman.
His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Majid Bin Saeed AL Nuaimi, Chairman Ruler’s Court Ajman inaugurated the conference. His Excellency Sheikh Mohamed Bin Saqr Al Qassimi, Assistant Under Secretary, Ministry of health and Director Sharjah Medical District and His Excellency Hamad Taryam Al Shamsi, Director Ajman Medical District were present on the occasion. GMC Hospital Fujairah in association with Red Crescent Society and Ministry of Health UAE organized a CONFERENCE ON UPDATES IN MANAGEMENT OF RESPIRATORY DISEASES on the 23rd of February 2008, Saturday at Al Diar Siji Hotel in Fujairah. Over 200 doctors and Healthcare Professionals from all over UAE attended the conference.
His Excellency Dr. Salem Rashid Al Zahmi, Director, Ministry of health Fujairah Medical District inaugurated the conference. He lauded the efforts of GMC Hospital for organizing such conferences. He later presented mementos to speakers. Mr. Suhail Al Qadi, Director Red Crescent Society Fujairah also attended the function and presented appreciation mementos to various companies who sponsored the event. Leading experts in Infertility discussed about Infertility during a conference held at GMCA. Conference Secretariat at Gulf Medical College, Ajman in association with Gunasheela IVF Centre, Bangalore India organized a “Conference on Recent Advances in Infertility” at Gulf Medical College Ajman on the 26th of January 2008, Saturday. Over 200 doctors from all over UAE attended the conference. A team of experts led by renowned infertility expert Dr. Sulochana Gunasheela from India delivered talks at the conference.
