Gulf College of Allied Health Sciences, a constituent college of Gulf Medical University hosted a conference on Evidence Based Practice in Physical Therapy on the 28th of February 2009 at GMU Campus in Ajman.

His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Majid Bin Saeed Al Nuaimi, Chairman, Ruler’s Court Ajman inaugurated the conference. He honored the invited faculty who delivered talks at the conference. Mr. Thumbay Moideen, President GMU presided over the function. in his welcome note, Moideen highlighted the importance of having such scientific meetings and said “ it has always been our endeavour to complement the efforts of the Ministry of Health and other health authorities in the country to promote high standards of education and training, both to aspiring and in service professionals. Diabetes has become a matter of national concern. Official figures stand at about 24% of the UAE population suffer from this controllable disease, says Dr. Abdul Razzak Madani, Endocrinologist at the Dubai Hospital. He will be talking about the Extent of Diabetes in the Middle East and GCC, at the National Conference on Recent Advances in Diabetes Mellitus, to be held on Thursday, the 29th of May at the Gulf Medical College Ajman.
